By Scott Millan

Scotty is originally from Tarrytown, New York. After graduating high school, he joined the US Marine Corps as an Aviation Ordnance Technician and served in the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit to Iraq. Scotty's four years of military service encouraged him to become a disciplined and dependable team player. Additionally, he learned important leadership skills and earned a number of medals, including the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal. While training for the military, Scotty saw the first-hand benefits of exercise and sound nutrition. He became inspired to help others achieve similar results and went on to work as a personal trainer and boxing/kickboxing instructor in Arizona and California. Over the years, he has gained invaluable experience developing exercise programs for private clients, creating innovative group fitness classes and promoting membership and equipment sales. Scotty is also a talented Muay Thai competitor; he was the 2010 PKF Amateur Muay Thai champion in New York and offers private and group lessons to clients. Scotty is always looking to expand his knowledge of the fitness world. In addition to receiving multiple personal training certifications, he has taken a number of continuing education courses covering topics such as Sports Nutrition, Program Design for hypertrophy, and Maternal Fitness.
