My fitness journey began at 17 years of age when I was tired of my size. My mom had a series of Richard Simmons' "Sweatin to the Oldies" tapes and I exercised with them regularly. During a brief stint as an Ocoee River guide I also taught swimming lessons at the Cleveland Family YMCA, which is where I realized my true calling, to teach. I received a B.A. in Human Performance from the College of Education at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, LA and went on to teach P.E. for 3 years. Now I embark on my lifelong passion of delivering quality swimming instruction to the children of my hometown while also providing opportunities for fitness through community events.
